Volleyball coverage

Volleyball, with the set score always on screen

Volleyball is the sport spectators most often lose track of: five sets, a different target in the last one, rotations, timeouts and substitutions. The scoreboard has to carry all of that, and the cameras have to cover a court where the ball goes well above the net.

Camera plan

Positions are chosen for the sport and then adjusted for your venue. This is the starting point.

01
Elevated side, halfway

The main view - both courts in frame with enough height to see over the net.

02
Behind the baseline

Spikes and blocks down the line, and the replay of a disputed touch.

03
Low corner

Reactions and the bench, which is where a volleyball match's drama sits.

Tournament formats we cover

Pools into a knockout over a weekend, often men's and women's draws together, sometimes on sand as well as indoors. Village and district tournaments draw big local crowds, which makes the LED wall and the crowd mics worth more than an extra camera.

Crowd sound is the broadcast

A district volleyball final has a crowd three deep around the court. Getting that into the mix matters more than another camera position - a stream that sounds like the room is in the room. We mic the court and the crowd separately so the mix can be balanced live.

Questions we get asked

Before you enquire

Do you cover beach and sand volleyball?
Yes. Sand is an outdoor exposure and dust question, and the scoreboard switches to the two-set format.
Can teams register as squads?
Yes. Team and franchise registration collects the full squad with each player's details, rather than one contact name for the team.
Can we show the points table on the LED wall?
Yes - between matches and at set breaks, which is exactly when the crowd is looking for it.

Send us your fixture list

Tell us the sport, the dates and the ground. We will come back with what the coverage needs and what it costs - and if registrations open before that is settled, start collecting entries today.
