Table Tennis coverage

Table tennis, fast enough to need the replay

Table tennis is the fastest ball in the building and the smallest playing area. That combination makes it one of the better sports to stream - the whole match fits in one frame - as long as the camera is fast enough to hold the ball and the scoreboard keeps up with 11-point games.

The table tennis scoreboard, built for table tennis

A generic score bug with the words changed does not work. These are the fields our graphics carry for table tennis, driven live from the scorer.

Camera plan

Positions are chosen for the sport and then adjusted for your venue. This is the starting point.

01
High behind each end

The full table in frame with both players, which is the view the sport is watched on.

02
Side, table height

Spin and the bounce, and the replay of a close edge.

03
Hall wide

Multi-table context, presentations and the crowd.

Tournament formats we cover

Groups into a knockout across several tables, with singles, doubles and team events, often with age and rating categories in the same tournament. A show table gets the full graphics package while results from the other tables run on the ticker.

A small ball at a high shutter

Keeping a 40mm ball visible means a high shutter speed, which means the hall needs more light than it looks like it does. It is the first thing we test at the venue, because a stream where the ball cannot be seen is not worth running.

Questions we get asked

Before you enquire

Can you cover a team championship?
Yes. The scoreboard carries the tie score across the singles and doubles rubbers, not just the current match.
Can we take entries for several categories?
Yes. Each category takes its own entries and fee, and a player entering three of them is still one player record.
How many tables can you stream?
One show table with full graphics is the usual booking. More tables are possible - tell us the hall and the schedule and we will plan it.

Send us your fixture list

Tell us the sport, the dates and the ground. We will come back with what the coverage needs and what it costs - and if registrations open before that is settled, start collecting entries today.
