Badminton coverage

Badminton tournaments, from a hall with eight courts

A badminton tournament is a hall full of simultaneous matches under mixed lighting, with a shuttle that moves faster than almost anything else in sport. The production is built around those two facts.

The badminton scoreboard, built for badminton

A generic score bug with the words changed does not work. These are the fields our graphics carry for badminton, driven live from the scorer.

Tournament formats we cover

Knockout main draws with qualifying, or pools into a knockout, across several courts in a hall. Age-group and skill-band categories usually run together, so a single day can hold dozens of matches - the stream follows the show court and cuts to a finish elsewhere when one is close.

Keeping the shuttle visible

A shuttle against a pale hall ceiling on a low shutter speed is a white smear. Getting it to read on a stream is a matter of shutter, camera placement against the background, and sometimes which end of the hall you shoot from. It is the first thing we check when we see the venue.

Questions we get asked

Before you enquire

Can you stream a show court all day?
Yes. A single show court with full graphics is the most common booking, with the rest of the hall covered by results on the ticker.
Do you handle entries for age-group categories?
Yes. Each category takes entries separately, with date of birth and age-proof documents collected where the tournament needs them.
Can parents watch from another city?
That is most of the audience for age-group tournaments, and it is the reason AI commentary exists - matches go out with audio even when no commentator is on site.
